MOUNTING THE SKYBELL HD DEVICE

  1. Remove the existing doorbell. Leave the wires exposed and operate them from each other to prevent the wires from touching and activating the door chime.
  2. Use the mounting plate as a guide and determine where the screws will be placed. Mark the location (this step is unnecessary if the screw holes from the existing doorbell match).
  3. If installing into concrete, brick or stucco, use a power drill, with the included drill bit to make the holes for the screws. If installing into wood, use the included screwdriver and screws to start the holes. If the drill holes are too large, use the included screw anchors to provide the perfect fit for the screws.
  4. Place the SkyBell HD mounting plate onto the home, lining up the holes with the mounting plate and ensuring that the screws are facing forward.
  5. Pull the wires through the center of the plate being careful not to touch the two wires together.
  6. Install the mounting plate using the included screws and tighten until snug.
  7. Loosen the two screws slightly to allow for the ends of the wires to pass underneath.
  8. Insert one wire under each screw and tighten. Give each wire a slight tug to be sure each is secure.
  9. Tuck in any excess wiring.
  10. Locate the SkyBell HD.
  11. Locate the lip on the top of the mounting plate.
  12. Attach the top of the SkyBell HD to the lip first, tipping it up slightly to ensure it is attached.
  13. Snap the bottom into place until it is flush with the mounting plate.  Note: The SkyBell HD may not be flush with the customer’s home, this is okay.
  14. Hold the device in place until the LED illuminates. If the LED does not come on, remove the SkyBell and ensure the wires are properly attached to the mounting plate.
  15. Tighten the set screw on the bottom of the mounting plate. Turn the screw to the right until tight but do not over-tighten the set screw.

INSTALLING THE SKYBELL HD WEDGE MOUNT (OPTIONAL)

SkyBell HD Wedge Mount is used to adjust the angle of the SkyBell HD Wi-Fi Video Doorbell device to provide optimal viewing. The SkyBell HD device has a 180° field of view but may be further enhanced with the use of the SkyBell HD Wedge to more finely adjust the view for a particular installation. It is especially useful when the SkyBell HD device is mounted at a recessed angle to the plane of the door or mounted on an adjacent wall.

The SkyBell HD Wedge is designed to provide for fine adjustments of the SkyBell HD viewing angle by freely rotating the wedge while the SkyBell HD is being held in place, prior to anchoring the wedge to the mounting surface. The maximum adjustment is approximately 15° (15 degrees) in any direction (as the wedge mount can be rotated). The wedge is not required for standard SkyBell HD installation.

Installation

Mount the back of the SkyBell HD Wedge against the wall surface and place the standard mounting plate on top of the angled wedge side. The center raised ring of the wedge fits inside of the standard mounting plate to provide a flush fit and allows the wedge to rotate without turning the standard mounting plate. Rotate the wedge to provide the desired angle pointed in the right direction. Thread the power wires through the center of the wedge and mounting plate. Anchor the combined wedge/mounting plate to the wall as shown is the diagram below:

  6. Install the mounting plate using the included screws and tighten until snug.

  10. Locate the SkyBell Trim Plus.

  15. Tighten the set screw on the bottom of the mounting plate. Turn the screw to the right until tight but do not over-tighten the set screw.

SkyBell Trim Plus Wedge Mount is used to adjust the angle of the SkyBell Trim Plus Wi-Fi Video Doorbell device to provide optimal viewing. The SkyBell Trim Plus device has a 180° field of view but may be further enhanced with the use of this wedge to more finely adjust the view for a particular installation. It is especially useful when the SkyBell Trim Plus device is mounted at a recessed angle to the plane of the door or mounted on an adjacent wall.

The SkyBell Trim Plus Wedge is designed to provide angle adjustment of approximately 15° (15 degrees).

Installation

Mount the back of the SkyBell Trim Plus Wedge against the wall surface and place the standard mounting plate on top of the angled wedge side. Thread the power wires through the center of the wedge and mounting plate. Anchor the combined wedge/mounting plate to the wall as shown is the diagram below:
